The National Olympic Committee of Sierra Leone (NOCSL) will be hosting the 39th Seminar for Secretary Generals of Africa NOCs at the Radison BLU Hotel in Freetown.
According to Joseph Nyande the Secretary General of NOCSL, the participants of the above seminar will arrive on the 11th November and the seminar will start on the 12th November 2022 and ends on the 14th November 2022.
In a similar seminar last year in Niger, Joseph Nyande declared for Sierra Leone to host the next seminar. They went into vote and Sierra Leone base on Joseph Nyande’s presentation was voted to host the next Seminar.
According to him this year’s theme for the seminar is ‘NOC Strategic Plan Implementation.’
He said already all the NOC Secretary Generals have registered to attend the seminar in Sierra Leone. Nyande went on that apart from the Secretary Generals, the President of ANOCA and his executive members and five members of Olympic Solidarity will all be part of the seminar.
The seminar, he said will face lift development plans in Sierra Leone. He went on that it will also help to boost Sierra Leone’s tourism sectors.
The Secretary said Sierra Leone is planning to build NOC Headquarter for which the seminar will enable the Olympic Solidarity members to inspect the project site.
The members will also have the chance to inspect activities of NOCSL and give their own advice. Apart from the seminar, he said they also have plans to conduct technical courses in the coming days for some sporting disciplines and for the Women and Sports Commission.
On the opening day, he said they are expecting a top government official to give a statement.
