FREETOWN, Feb. 24 (232news.com) – The Nigeria Cricket Federation has invited the Sierra Leone female U-17 national team to take part in their four nation tournament in Lagos next month.

The four countries that will be taking part in the above tournament are Nigeria the host, Sierra Leone, Ghana and Rwanda.

The tournament is schedule to kick-start on the 29th March 2022 with all participating teams to arrive in Lagos on the 27th March 2022.

 Apart from Nigeria and Ghana Sierra Leone and Rwanda will be using the Nigeria T20 Series as part of their preparations for the ICC U-19 Women’s World Cup qualifying tournament in December 2022 at a venue that will be named later.

 Eight countries will be taking part in ICC Female U-19 tournament with Sierra Leone being the only country selected from the North/West Africa Region.

 In the U-17 tournament, Sierra Leone will be using most of the U-17 players for the U-19 tournament.

Sierra Leone will face the host country Nigeria on the 29th March 2022 in the morning hours while Ghana will battle with Rwanda in the afternoon.

 On the 30th March Sierra Leone will face Ghana in the afternoon hours. The teams will rest on the 31st March 2022. On the 1st April, Sierra Leone will battle with Rwanda in the morning hours and in the afternoon hours Nigeria will host Ghana.

The battle for the third place will take place on the 2nd April 2022 in the morning hours with the final match taking place in the afternoon hours with all the matches scheduled to take place at the TBS Cricket Oval in Lagos.

The teams will depart Nigeria on the 3rd March 2022. The Sierra Leone female team is presently training with 30 players and will start trials next Month to cut down the number of players till they get the number of players that will be travelling to Nigeria.
