The Sierra Leone Karate athletes both male and female were in Casablanca- Morocco to take part in the African championship. During the championship, the presidents of the various countries in Africa attended the Africa Karate Federation congress.
The Africa Championship started on the 11th to the 21st August 2023 in Morocco. In the congress, they discussed on past activities in the Africa Karate Federation.
They also took part in the Africa Commonwealth Karate Federation in which Victor Amara was appointed as the chairman for the Africa Karate Congress.
Victor Amara was also voted as the Vice President for the West Africa Commonwealth Federation. The members agreed to launch the Africa Commonwealth Federation in Sierra Leone January 2024.
During the launching they will be also grading karate cans backed by technical course. This will be the first time in history Sierra Leone will be hosting such activity according to Victor Amara.
He called on the Karate athletes to make good use of the opportunity. He went on that before they use to travel out before they will be graded.
The congress was also attended by the Commonwealth Karate Federation President Hanshi Sonny Pillay who also doubles as the South Africa Karate and the Vice President Union of Africa Karate.
Also, at the congress were Victor Edward Amara President of Sierra Leone Karate Federation who also doubles as the Vice President Union of Africa Region 1 and representatives of West Africa Commonwealth Karate Federation representatives.
Back home, Victor Amara said they are now working on preparations to host the launching and the grading program in January 2023. He went on that the Federation has informed all the Karate schools nationwide to prepare for the January grading.
