The Sierra Leone Women’s National Cricket team has qualified to the semi-final stage with unbeaten record. The Ladies Patriots were in group B together with Cameroon, Mozambique and Eswatini. As per the tournament procedure, the two top countries will qualify to the semi-final stage. The Ladies Patriots started their campaign in the group stage of the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup Division2 Africa qualifier in Botswana against Cameroon. In the match they defeated the Cameroon Women by 7 wickets. Cameroon were all out in 13.5 overs for 40 runs loss of 3 wickets. Sierra Leone replied with 42 runs with a loss of 3 wickets in 5.5 overs. In the Cameroon match Alice Fillie won the woman of the match award. At the second match the following day Sierra Leone defeated Mozambique by 10 wickets. In the match against the Mozambique Women were bowled all out for 55 runs in 16.3 loss 3 wicket. Sierra Leone replied with 56 runs for the loss of no wicket in 7 overs. In their last group stage match the Ladies Patriots humiliated the women of Eswatini by 147 runs loss of 6 wickets in 20 overs. The Ladies scored 173 runs loss of 6 wickets in 20 overs. The winning Against Eswatini has qualified Sierra Leone to the semi-final stage unbeaten. Ann Marie Monica Kamara won the Woman of the match award in the last match against Eswatini. Sierra Leone will face Botswana today at BCA1 in the morning hours. The second semi-final match will take place in the afternoon between Kenya, group A leader against Cameroon on the same day at BCA1 Ovals. The winners of the two semi-final matches will automatically qualify for the division1 qualifier in Uganda, December 2023. The four teams will rest tomorrow Thursday and will battle in the 3rd place and the final matches on Friday.
