The executive committee of the Sierra Leone Football Association (SLFA) has appointed six former referees and one non referee as Referees Committee Members. The Referees Committee they said is charged with the responsibility to interpret and implement the laws of the game. The members shall appoint match officials in competitions organized by SLFA, preside over refereeing matters in collaboration with the administrative of SLFA and monitor the education and training of referees. Among the appointees is the president of the Sierra Leone Handball Association, A.G Koroma a retired referee. A G Koroma started active refereeing in 1990 as national referee. He was certified as a FIFA referee in 1999. Koroma officiated several CAF Club and country qualifying competitions as central referee for 7 years. A G Koroma is the longest serving Secretary General of the Western Area Football Referees Association (WAFRA) He became the acting National Secretary General of the Football Referees Association. A G Koroma is presently the Social Secretary for the National Football Referees Association. Koroma said this is his first appointment ever as a Referee Committee Member.
Among the other appointed members is Alhaji M A Sesay as Chairman. M. A. Sesay started refereeing in 1989 he is a former Secretary General of the Sierra Leone Football Association and has been a former Referees committee member before, Dr. Patrick Muana (Vice Chairman) a member of the Sierra Leone Judo Association. Alhaji Dauda Williams a retired referee and former Acting Chairman of WAFRA, Suffianu Cole retired FIFA referee, Lansana Boima a retired referee and a former Referee Committee Member and the only female among them Margret Korgi who is the first female referee in Sierra Leone.
