Victor Lewis 2024-2025 Premier League Board Chairman

After the successful completion of the 2023-2024, Premier League Season, Sierra Leone Football Association (SLFA) has maintained seasoned Football Administrator and Philanthropist Victor Lewis as Chairman of the  2024-2025 Premier League Board.

According to the FA, the newly constituted Board is tasked with overseeing the effective management and administration of the upcoming league season, ensuring that it continues to foster competitive football while upholding the highest standards of sportsmanship and governance.

The FA constitutes Victor Lewis as chairman and six others in the Board which according to the FA, show that the league is well position to thrive in the upcoming season, promoting sport across  the nation and continues to be a source of pride for Sierra Leone.

Victor has been in football for over 20 years, committed,and dedicated to sacrificing and serving the beautiful game in a developing country like Sierra Leone.

Lewis explained that he has always been very appreciative of every appointment as a means of recognising his little contribution to the development of the game in Sierra Leone, noting that he is  always willing to serve and contribute no matter the importance or significance of the task.

“Once more, I feel privileged and I am ever so grateful to the President, the Exco and the General Secretary for appreciating my leadership of the Premier League Board 2023/24 and for re-appointing me as Chairman for the 2024/25 season,” he said.

He thanked the last board members who served with him for their support, apologising for any shortcomings or any issue they may have been dissatisfied with.

At the same time, he welcome the new board, promising to learn from last year’s mistakes and working with them to correct the mistakes to make this season best ever PL in Sierra Leone.

He extended his thanks and appreciation to the Premier League clubs for their patience and support last year, pleading for same this year.

“I plead for a concerted effort and support from all, and whilst I thank especially the Government, our biggest funders, and Leonrock our official sponsors, I ask them to consider increasing the funding considerably, for the league is now extremely difficult to finance and manage,” he stated.

He called on all to work as one to make the league a much more efficient and successful league for that would help them promote football and expose their players internationally.

“For with a properly run league, we can have a lot more Juma Bah, Alpha,  Saidu Fofanah, Mohamed Fofanah (fastest) contracted by top clubs overseas,” he added.

He thanked all their match officials, security forces, ticket sellers, and most importantly the media, with special recognition to AYV for broadcasting matches live on their networks.
