Few days back in a press briefing, at the Radison BLU Hotel in Freetown, the Acting Secretary General Benson Bawoh pronounced that the FA will be organizing up to 10 different league matches for both male and female in different age groups.
These competitions, according to him will include the premier league, division1, division2, U-15 and U-17 for both male and female nationwide.
To start with the preparation, they invited over 70 male and female to train them as coordinators for the various competitions.
The two days training started on Wednesday 25th October 2023 and ended on Thursday 26th October 2023 at the SLFA Secretariat in Kingtom, Freetown.
The training was organized to capacitate them as football coordinators to enable them to do the best practice and be professional in caring about their jobs.
The opening ceremony was graced by the Acting General Secretary Mohamed Benson Bawoh, the premier league Board Chairman Victor Lewis, SLFA Director of Competitions Sorie Ibrahim Sesay, Head Women’s Football Marian Heroe and the Head of Safety and Security Mohamed Bowen Freeman.
In addressing the participants on the opening day, the Acting General Secretary told the participants that such training is geared to seeing the smooth running of football competition in the country.
He further revealed that the Sierra Leone Football Association is set to conduct more training to capacitate more key officials in match organization to enhance good performance, discipline and fair play in the game. On the final day, outstanding participants were qualified as SLFA Match Commissioners.
