FREETOWN, Sep 28 (SALONE TIMES) –Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of Works and Public Assets, Rukiatu Kamara said that State House have two elevators but only is in working order, noting that the Ministry has to do routine work there to ensure that the other one is in working order.

Madam Kamara made this statement on Tuesday September 21 when the ministry was presenting its 2022 budget to the Ministry of Finance.

She added that the elevator in the Office of the Vice President Office is not in  an appropriate location and as such, they have to remove it from the place where it  is currently located to an appropriate place.

She went on to say that the completion of the Audit Service Building is long overdue in terms of construction but the ministry will make sure it is completed as they need Le20 billion for it to be completed

She highlighted that the demolition of UN building is 75% completed and that the ministry will construct magistrate courts in Falaba and Koinadugu districts for which they need funds from the ministry of finance.

She pointed out that the Ministry is ensuring that the 22 local council’s roads funded by RMFA is in line with SLRA specification.

The Ministry of Works Car Park is 40% completed, for Youyi Building some offices have removed the original titles that were there, replacing it with counterfeit tiles which have affected the elevator.

She said that the toilets at Youyi Building are in bad shape but that for Miatta Conference Center, the work is completed but they are fixing elevator to make it disable friendly.
