FREETOWN, June 28 (232News) – An organization called The Brotherhood is poised to help provide support to children and the less privilege across Sierra Leone.
Established in 2020, the organization is fully registered in the United States of America and has been providing financial, as well as moral support to its members at all times. According to the Welfare Officer, Mohamed Kargbo, the organization has decided that moving forward, they will be extending their hand of support to those in need in Sierra Leone. He spoke about plans to get the organization fully registered in Sierra Leone.
“Our objectives include promoting friendly relationship and unionism among our members, attain and sustain social and economic reliance for every member and inculcating the spirit of tolerance, fairness, and respect among members. But we want to go beyond that because we have realized that thousands of Sierra Leoneans are in dire need of support. We want to see how we can provide our own little help,” he said.
He told this medium that currently, there is no project in place to embark on such initiative but expressed hope of having a project that speaks to the needs of the poor very soon.
“It is clear that we came together to help our members when they are in need but we cannot continue this way. We need to extend our hand of support to our compatriots here in Sierra Leone,” Mr. Kargbo stated and assured of their determination and commitment to have a project in place that support Sierra Leoneans.
Personally, Mohamed Kargbo has been providing basic assistance in his community. When the COVID-19 struck Sierra Leone, Mr. Kargbo provided veronica buckets to his community for the washing of hands.
“I have provided food items and also, I have embarked on a project to get water tanks in my community. I will continue to do more to lift my people from the shackles of poverty,” he assured.
