The Chairman and Commissioner of the National Commission for Privatization Dr. Prince Alex Harding emphasised that the newly Commissioned Freetown International Airport has not been sold.
While delivering his statement at the commissioning of the New Freetown International Airport, our indefatigable chairman informed the gathering that the airport has not been sold out but that it has been concessioned to SUMMA GROUP.
The Chairman and Commissioner went on to explain the significant role of the Commission in ensuring that the vision of President Bio is achieved.
“At NCP we are focused on achieving the policies of the President and we will continue to collaborate with international investors and local partners to achieve success” he stated.
He went on to explain the types of privatization methods the Commission utilizes during privatization processes citing that the specific privatization method that was utilized at the Airport is a concession agreement.
The NCP Chairman underscored that privatization should not be considered as demonic exercise.
“Privatization when done with a human face is geared towards increasing productivity and efficiency” he expressed.
The Chairman and Commissioner applauded SUMMA GROUP for transforming the status of the airport and encouraged them and other stakeholders to collaborate with NCP to accomplish the goals of the President.
