The Opposition Whip in Parliament Hon Hassan Sesay has threatened that they will crush anyone who stands in the straight line in front of Samura Kamara to become the flagbearer of APC.
Hon Sesay made this statement in Parliament at Committee Room No 1 when 59 APC Members of Parliament endorsed Samura Kamara on Wednesday 8 February.
He noted that they are going to lead the campaign of Dr Samura Kamara and that they will also support the campaign financially.
Addressing his party members, the Presumptive APC Presidential Candidate Samura Kamara said that the APC is the only party that will redeem Sierra Leone.
He stated that what is happening in Sierra Leone is the big down of the country, noting that when an economy makes a mistake the whole country will die.
He appeals to the party to come together because Sierra Leoneans are looking up to the party.
According to him, he appreciates all the 59 MPs that endorsed him, pointing out that this is a wake-up call for the APC Party.
He pointed out that APC is ‘kombra’ party and that they should stop the fighting and get ready for 2023, and by their new constitution, they are the first generation.
Dr. Samura Kamara informed them that he would be declaring for the position of flagbearer this Sunday, February 12th in Makeni where he is going to do a presentation about the economy, showcasing where the APC left the economy in 2018.
He said that they are having serious economic challenges in the country, noting that they will fix the economy if given the power.
The Leader of Opposition Hon Chernor RM Bah said that every Member of Parliament is a delegate and that the delegates are going to endorse flagbearer Dr. Samura Kamara as the fittest to lead the party come June 24th 2023 election.
