The Winner of the Spelling B competition in Dubai Aisha Lucy Lawson has called on Members of Parliament to support the Spelling B competition come 2024. Ambassador Lawson made this plea at the well of Parliament after she emerged winner of the Spelling B competition in which she participated alongside twenty-two countries.  She was also made a Band Ambassador and given an award for her performance.

Lawson highlighted some of her challenges to members of parliament citing that some of her colleagues which participated in the competition went along with their teachers and supporters and also funds were provided for them. She said that she did not however relent. She went on to say that for her to participate in the competition, her parents had to fund the trip to Dubai because the organization did not have money to fund. These were the reasons why she was calling on parliamentarians through the speaker to fund her for the next coming Spelling B competition.

According to her Sierra Leone will not participate in this year Spelling B competition that id scheduled to take place in Ethiopia due to lack of funds. 

The Founder of the Spelling B competition, Mariatu Harding informed members of Parliament that Aisha Lucy Lawson performed so well at the competition people that people were enquiring about her country of origin.  She therefore pleaded to members of parliament to support the organization so that they could put the country on the map. The Speaker of parliament Dr. Abass Bundu thanked Aisha for winning the competition and for putting Sierra Leone on the map. Dr.  Bundu said he was not going to promise them but he would inform the members of parliament about the support the organization was asking for.
