The Turkish Embassy through the Ministry of Youth Affairs has provided advanced equipment to Care Motor Garage at Metchkem, Quarry Godrich.

The equipment includes Spanners, jacks and modern auto electrical equipment.

Speaking at the event, the Minister of Youth Affairs Mohamed Orman Bangura called on the youths to take advantage of the opportunity, adding that this will help them to advance their skills.

He further urged the youths to stop taking harmful drugs, noting that harmful drugs have negative impact on the young generation.

Care Motor Garage Coordinator Ishmael Alie Turay thanked the Turkish Representative and the Minister of Youth Affairs for providing advanced equipment to his garage.

He expressed thanks and appreciation to the Minister for empowering youths in his community, adding that this will encourage youths to stay and learn meaningful skills in his garage.

He promised to use the equipment for the right purpose noting that this will help them to match with international standards.

“Some of the tools are new to us but we will endeavor and learn how to use them appropriately,” he said.

He furthered that this will help to impact middle level youthful population in the country. He called on the youths in his community to go to care Motor garage to acquire meaningful skills 

Community Headman Abdul Kamara expressed appreciation to the Minister for positively impacting the lives of youths in his community

Many of our youth are now engaged in learning skill work, noting that this will help move the youths from the streets.

He called on the minister to complete the car wash because some of the youths are unemployed.

Representing the Turkish Ambassador, Mehmet Selim Ortok, Third Secretary of the Turkish Embassy thanked the Minister for paying attention to the young people in the country, admonishing the youths to take good care of the equipment.

He said that there is a solid cooperation between the two countries and his country is willing to support the youths of Sierra Leone.

“We would like to see improvement in skill development in the next five years and this will encourage us to do more,” he added.
