The Cycle of Atlantic Ladies of Atlantic Lumley Hotel on Saturday, 8 March 2026, commemorated the International Women’s Day by donating assorted food items to residents of Aberdeen and Lumley.
The initiative formed part of activities marking the 115th anniversary of International Women’s Day and was carried out under the group’s motto, “We listen, we don’t judge.” The donation was aimed at supporting vulnerable members of the surrounding communities while celebrating the global day dedicated to women.
Speaking during the presentation, the Secretary General of the Cycle of Atlantic Ladies, Hawanatu Kallon, extended warm International Women’s Day greetings to the residents and expressed appreciation for the opportunity to celebrate the occasion with them.
She noted that the group remains committed to strengthening relationships with neighboring communities and promoting compassion and support for those in need.
Vice Chairlady Easi Martha Ackon also expressed delight at meeting and interacting with residents of Aberdeen and Lumley. She thanked community members for welcoming the team and allowing them to share in the celebration.
Ackon highlighted the commitment of Atlantic Lumley Hotel to providing exceptional hospitality services to guests.
“We are a luxury seafront hotel nestled in the heart of the vibrant Lumley Beach area. Guests who visit our hotel are never far from the entertainment and attractions that Freetown has to offer,” she said.
She added that the hotel offers a comfortable and serene environment that allows guests to relax and enjoy quality rest after work or leisure activities.
According to her, the star-rated hotel caters for both short and long stays, providing guests with a refined and welcoming atmosphere. She encouraged residents to inform their friends and loved ones about the hotel and to consider it as a preferred destination for accommodation and hospitality services.
Ackon also reflected on several charitable initiatives previously undertaken by the hotel and reaffirmed management’s commitment to continuing community support programmes.
Responding on behalf of the beneficiaries, the head woman of the Under the Bridge community expressed gratitude to the management of Atlantic Lumley Hotel, particularly the Cycle of Atlantic Ladies, for reaching out to them during the International Women’s Day celebration.
She described the gesture as timely and meaningful, noting that the community deeply appreciates the support and recognition shown to them on such an important occasion.
