A Nation Where Leaders Live in Peace… The DIB Dream Coming to Pass

232news – “I want to see a nation where present and past leaders live in peace.” Dr Ibrahim Bangura.

That single statement from DIB carries the whole future of Sierra Leone inside it.
Throughout his campaign, he has said it everywhere he goes. While others were preaching division, he was preaching healing. While others were recycling old grudges, he was talking about unity.
And today, we are starting to see it.
To see Former President Ernest Bai Koroma (EBK) and His Excellency President Julius Maada Bio (JMB) sharing the same national platform, speaking the language of peace, is phenomenal. It is not small. For some of us who know where this country is coming from, it means everything.
This is the healing process beginning. This is how a nation is built.
The politics of recycling negative deeds must stop. We cannot keep bringing back the bitterness of yesterday to poison today. We cannot build tomorrow if we are still fighting yesterday’s war. That old way has only given us hate, setback and division.

What EBK and JMB showed on that stage is leadership in its true form. That despite political differences, Sierra Leone is bigger than any party. APC or SLPP, we are one people.
If the leaders can sit together, why should the supporters fight? If the leaders can talk peace, why should the youth throw stones?
This is why Dr Ibrahim Bangura must be hailed. He said it when it was difficult to say. He stood for peace when peace was not popular. Today his wish is gradually coming to pass.
Let us hold on to this. Let unity continue to build. Together, as he always says, we will build a beautiful nation.

It is all about

LOVE OVER HATE, BUILDING BRIDGES AND NOT WALLS
