One of Sierra Leone’s prestigious hotel, Atlantic Lumley Hotel as part of it corporate social responsibility donated 25 bundles zinc worth 60 thousand New Leones (Le 60,000,000) old Leones for the roofing of the ongoing construction of the Aberdeen Community School.

As one of Sierra Leone’s finest 5-star hotels, Atlantic Lumley Hotel first donated 50 bags of cements and quantum of sand among other donations to that school.

The construction of eight classrooms storey building, fencing, pavement, and renovation of other dilapidated structures within the Aberdeen Community School premise is undertaken by Hon. Mohamed Sheriff Rahman-Coker of Constituency 131 with Atlantic Lumley Hotel been a major partner.

Atlantic Lumley Hotel, Human Resource Manager, Lonnel Saied Kargbo while presenting the items to the honourable Rahman-Coker and the community representatives described education as one of the flagship program of President Bio therefor they saw the need to support it.

He went on to say the 25 bundles of zinc is to ensure that the project come to completion.  “As long as we are here in this community, we are ready to do more. We are with you and we are ready to work with you,” he assured them.

He said the hotel saw the need as a means for them to give a swift hand to donate quantum of sand, 50 bags cements and now 25 bundle of zinc.

“We are so moved towards the project and I think this will benefit the future generation as everybody in this community is yearning for such project.”

Kargbo reflected on their first donation of bags and other school items to that school and when the honourable came with the idea for the school project they welcomed it because the Hotel is established within the Aberdeen/ Lumley axis.

On receiving the items, Hon. Mohamed Sheriff Rahman-Coker thanked the hotel for their timely support.

He disclosed that the project which started in September 2020 should have lasted for one year but was a little delayed due to some challenges as it is self-funded by him.

“We want to extend our sincere thanks and appreciation to the hotel. The 8 classroom building, fencing, renovation and pavement of the school premises will cost Le 100 billion. We really appreciate it; we hope that this will continue”.

He disclosed that from the start of the project, Atlantic Lumley Hotel has done extremely well in that community.

“From the start of the building they have been supporting us. They donated cements and sands. They are here again to donate to the community because this school is a community school. Such donation will never come out of our mind,”

He stressed that the Hotel has play a very vital role for the completion of the community school. 

“We really appreciate the hotel we will pass this message to generation yet unborn,” he said.  

Community representative, Chief Yanbuka assured Atlantic Lumley Hotel that what they have done will not wipe out of their mind.

“Supporting education means a low. We want you to continue after the roofing. We are so pleased with this gesture,” he said.

Youth representative, Sheriff Amid said Atlantic Lumley Hotel assured them that the hotel belongs to Aberdeen and they are supporting their education.

“We pray that their business flourish. We love you and we are ready to ensure that we are protecting you at all times. Let God made this hotel be the biggest and best in this community,” he prayed.
