According to the rescheduled fixtures for the West Africa Trophy Tournament, participating teams will arrive in Nigeria tomorrow Tuesday 3rd October 2023. Four countries three from West Africa and one invited from East Africa will take part in the above tournament in Lagos at the TBS Ovals. The tournament will be played on a home-and-away basis with the top two teams playing in the final match for the champion and the runner-up trophy. The last two teams in 3rd & 4th position will play for the third place trophy. Among the four participating countries are the host Nigeria, Sierra Leone, Ghana from West Africa and Rwanda invited from East Africa. The battle for the West Africa Trophy will kick-off on Wednesday with Nigeria engaging Rwanda in the first match in the morning and in the afternoon at 10:00 pm. On match day Two Nigeria will host Sierra Leone in the morning hours at 10:00 am and in the afternoon Ghana will battle with Rwanda at the same ovals.
According to the fixtures, each country will play 9 matches three against each country in the tournament. The first reserved day for the teams to rest is on the 9th October 2023. The qualifying stage will resume on the 10th September and will continue onto the 13th September 2023 for the second reserved day. After the second reserved day Rwanda will host Nigeria in the morning while in the afternoon Ghana will host Sierra Leone. The 3rd place and the final match will take place on the 15th October 2023. The three visiting teams will depart Nigeria on the 16th October 2023. Among the Sierra Leone delegation are the 14 players; George Edward Ngegba (C ), George Sesay, Lansana Lasmin, Ibrahim Kamara, Moses Bami Williams, Raymond Coker, Samuel Conteh, Yegbeh Jalloh, Alusine Turay, John Bagura (WK), Muniru Kpaka, Abass Gbla, Cherenoh Bah, Aruna Kanessie, Mohamed Boys Kamara (Head Coach), Edward Marah (Team Manager),Ibrahim Kabia (Umpire).
