FREETOWN, Aug 10 (SALONE TIMES) –  In his address to the athletes in Tokyo the Sports Minister told the athletes online that plans were underway for athletes to qualify for the Commonwealth Games camp in Birmingham. The camping in Birmingham he said will enable them to get acclimatized to the weather in Birmingham. Besides the weather, the athletes will get a chance to train with modernize equipment at top venues with proper facilities. He told the athletes to put aside what went wrong in Japan and start to prepare for the upcoming Commonwealth in Birmingham next year. He said while in Japan he saw several things necessary for Games preparation. This he said he knows facilities are the greatest problem in Sierra Leone and assured that the government will be looking into it soon. The Minister thanked the athletes and the coaches for their relentless effort in representing Sierra Leone in the Games. To the athletes who make mistakes in their competitions he said they now have chance to correct these mistakes. He told the coaches to work hard and make sure more athletes represent Sierra Leone in the upcoming Commonwealth Games. Continue the hard work he said as the government is ready to sponsor them to represent Sierra Leone anywhere in the world. He told them that at first the media was skeptical about their performance but at the end they all now have good things to talk about them in the social media. The Commonwealth Games is presently the agenda in the mind of each athletes to qualify and represent Sierra Leone. The athletes have challenged the government that with their full support out of the experience they have got in Japan they will make Sierra Leone Proud in Birmingham.
