The Un-audited Annual Financial Statement of the Government of Sierra Leone authorized by the Minister of Finance Sheku Fantamahdi Bangura on the 24 March this year revealed that the Government of Sierra Leone expended the sum of Nle 191, 781,000 correspondingly 191,781,000,000 Old Leones.
This comes at a time when Sierra Leoneans have questioned the frequent fast travelling of the President particularly ones that are of no benefit to the country.
“Since he was elected as President, Bio and his Ministers are looking for the slightest opportunity to fly out of the country despite knowing that the country does not have financial capacity to fuel their frequent traveling,” a senior citizen noted.
That it seems as if the President does not care for his people, he only wanted to be President of Sierra Leone to enjoy luxury and leave the people and country in penury.
The Senior Citizen noted that if Bio spends more time in the country interacting with his people and resist the urge of too much flying, he will understand the pangs of his people and bring better policies that will solve their problem.
That the amount of money spent on travelling in a year could actually developed the health sector in the country.
It could be recalled that in the space of three weeks, President Julius Maada Bio has travelled to China, United Arab Emirate, United States of America (USA) and Senegal with little or nothing to show for it.
